What is a 3D Tangram Cube?
This is a fun, free handout that you can print, cut out, and tape together to make a 3D tangram cube. This page has templates for cutting out either black-and-white, or colored tangram cubes. Feel free to color or decorate the black-and-white tangram cube however you’d like!
Unfortunately, and somewhat ironically, the Tangram puzzle is not symmetric. Each individual piece (or “tan”) is symmetric, but not the puzzle as a whole. As a result, it is impossible to line up a 3D Tangram to have all of the pieces on all of the sides match up exactly. This one lines up several sides, but not all sides. When displaying the finished cube, show off the sides that have the most pieces lined up.
